Finding God  I thought I would just take a moment to explain how a person actually finds God. I get to address many issues, but this is probably the most important subject I could ever write about. I'm not sure why it always gets put on the back-burner. Maybe we're a bit sensitive about it. Anyway, how does a person find God? How is it possible to come to know God as a personal friend? As you could expect, there are plenty of answers to this question, and I guess you have heard many of them. For instance, some people say that you get in with God by living a good life, going to church, going to the "right" church, or even just by living in a so called Christian country. The problem is that none of those answers have much truth to them, and it's truth that we're interested about. It's not much use assuming that we have the answer to a life and death issue like this one and find out in the end that we were wrong. So how does a person find God? There was an old Boy Scouts Gang Show routine were a person has lost a coin and he's looking for it under the light of a street lamp? Of course, he hadn't lost it anywhere near the lamp pole, but then the light was much better there. We often try to find God everywhere but the very place he's to be found. We get into meditation, Eastern religions, philosophy, or we just float along with the a "she'll be right mate" routine. God can only be found in one place, in the one place he allows himself to be found. That one place is in the person of Jesus Christ. If you want to find God, you will find him in the person who wandered the streets of Palestine 2000 years ago, who was executed as a common criminal and who miraculously rose to life from the grave. You cant keep a good man down, can you? Jesus put it in the simplest of terms when he said "if you have seen me you have seen the Father." "I am the way the truth and the life." "Ask and it shall be given unto you". So that's where you find God. You just ask Jesus. You ask that you might be God's friend forever. In truth, there is no other way. All you have to do is ask. Simple isn't it?
