3rd Sunday in Lent. ATurn to God, the source of lifeSentenceGod proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 or 'The water that I will give', says the Lord, 'will become in you a spring of water welling up to eternal life.' John 4:14 Collects Almighty God, we confess that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves: keep up outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities that may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP. Lent 2 Let us pray [for confidence in the love and strength of God to overcome all our weakness] Father, you have taught us to express our love for you by prayer, denial of self, and works of mercy. When we are discouraged by our weakness, give us confidence in your love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB O God, the fountain of life, to a humanity parched with thirst you offer the living water that springs from the Rock, our Saviour Jesus Christ: stir up within your people the gift of your Spirit, that we may profess our faith with freshness and announce with joy the wonder of your love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. APBA Readings Water from the rock.
